Stress
Management
This
course is an exploration of stress and the effects that stress can manifest
in the individual. Everyone responds to stress factors in different ways
and this module looks specifically at how stress can be both a positive
and a negative influence. The course also provides a number of self-analysis
tools that enable the individual to monitor their own stress performance,
and to modify their behaviour if necessary.
The course
explores stress through the following topics:
- The physiology
of stress – how your body reacts to stress in different situations.
- The stressor
and the response – separating and identifying these two factors.
- Change
as a stressor and how to cope with change at all levels.
- The three
simple ways to handle change that reduce or eliminate the stress response.
- The physical
response and how to enable the body to be better equipped to respond
to stressors.
- Why the
words ‘just relax’ don’t work in a stressful situation
and how to move beyond the platitude.
- The complete
stress programme.
